John Deere - (Order Management) Information Architecture / UX Design
At John Deere, I worked for 26 months during my University education - 16-20 hours during the semester and 40 hours a week during breaks. I was hired on to work on the Quality Assurance portion of a very large-scale project on what we called a Testing Triage Team. In my first year, I gained exposure to Enterprise Information Architecture with software such as SAP, Microsoft SharePoint (HTML, CSS), Balsmiq Mockups, HP ALM Quality Center, in addition to being a meeting facilitator and for being a "gate-keeper" for defects being reported within the system.
During the Fall of my first year, a User Experience Designer took me on as a mentee and I worked through many different wireframes and mockups using Deere Standards and under his guidance with constant feedback and critique. I read many articles relating to UX, Interaction Design, and Human Computer Interaction and gained proficiency using Balsamiq Mockups, Bohemian Sketch, InVision and Adobe Fireworks (legacy). My final project with Deere & Company was the immigatration of the Information Architecture's SharePoint site to a new OM SharePoint site which umbrella'd all the content into one area for easier search. Due to Deere's projects being NDA, I cannot show my work in detail.
